Desi "Babalu" Jévon...
was born in the Bay Area of Concord, CA and named after Hollywood Legend, Desi Arnaz. He was raised in Honolulu, moved to New York City and now resides in Los Angeles where he works as an actor, dancer, choreographer, and director.
Once he realized that his dream of becoming an NBA basketball star was not going to happen... he pursued acting while dance became his "day job"
A multi-talented performer, Desi, started out doing commercials, tv, and film from the young age of 4. As he grew up watching his older brother and cousins dance and perform but never quite In the beginnings of his career, he sort of lived the exact life Johnny Castle lived in Dirty Dancing. Performing at night and teaching salsa privates during the day at resorts across the nation. Desi credits his first inspiration to that movie which Kenny Ortega choreographed.
Since then he has worked with artists such as touring with Gloria Estefan, Toni Braxton's Revealed show in Las Vegas, Selena Gomez, Prince Royce, Alicia Keys, Brian Setzer Orchestra and The Playboy Jazz Festival at The Hollywood Bowl. He also did the print campaign for So You Think You Can Dance, danced on Dancing with the Stars, was a salsa champion on Univision's Sabado Gigante.
As an actor Jevon received his first nomination for Best Featured Actor playing Paul in A Chorus Line in Hawaii. He then moved to New York City to pursue theatre, working at the Berkshire Theatre Festival in Mass., he was later cast in the Lions Gate Film Get Well Soon starring Courtney Cox and Vicent Gallo.
Desi soon moved to LA landing the role of Ricky on the series In The Moment. He can also be seen on Wizards of Waverly Place, Crazy Ex Girlfriend, Life in Pieces, Kids and Teen Choice Awards, Saturday Night Live, Castle, Shake it Up, American Dreams, Alias, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Scrubs, Bill Engvall Show, Andy Barker PI, All My Children, Poseidon, Gone with the Bullets, Gilmore Girls Reunion, Clerks 2, Desi in the play La Vida, and Leads in Commercials for Pepsi, Sprite, Reeces, Burger King, Bud Lime, and Chevy.
He is a 3-time World Choreography Award Nominee, his work has been seen on the spanish version of Dancing with the Stars called Mi Sueño es Bailar, VH-1's Dating Naked (assoc), USA's The Moment, Van Halen for both The Jimmy Kimmel Show and The Ellen Show, Celebrity Cruises (Turner Classic Movies), High Flyer Scooters commercial campaign, Vampire Diaries (assist), Switched at Birth (assist), Tengo Talento Mucho Talento, MGM Casino and Bellagio Casino's New Years Eve Shows, High Flyer Scooters commericals (Hover Boards), Bravo's Step it up and Dance (assoc), Chippendales ABSolutely sexy workout DVD, Chippendales the show, Duetos (spanish version of American Idol), America's Prom Queen, guest tango instructor on Dr. Phil, and has a salsa company called ANGELENO FuNK.
